Plum Blossom Festival at Haiwan Forest Park

Feb 2, 2019

The Sixth Oriental Beauty Valley Plum Blossom Festival will be held for 47 days from Chinese New Year's Day on February 5 to March 24 at the Shanghai Haiwan Forest Park.

This year's plum blossom festival will have plum blossom-themed activities. The park will introduce three plum blossom-watching routes, featuring its 1.33-square-kilometer plum blossom garden and more than 4,000 plum blossoms.

From February 5 to mid-February, the park will highlight the red plum blossoms at the eastern outdoor area; from mid-March to mid-April, varieties of fragrant osmanthus flowers and late spring flowers such as prunus mume 'Meiren' will be displayed at the park's central flower-watching area.

The Shanghai Haiwan Forest Park is a 4A-rated national tourist attraction, national ecological tourism demonstration area, and a five-star national agricultural tourist attraction.

The park also offers other entertainment forms and facilities such as go-karting, paint ball, forest entertainment park, folk museum, RV camp, ranch, and vegetable garden.

How to get there:
The park recommends visitors, who are driving, to take the S4 highway from downtown to the G1501 highway, then take the Wahong Road exit and drive to Suitang River Road, to Haiwan Park.

Or visitors can take the S20 highway from downtown to the S2 Highway's New Siping Road exit to Wusi Road to Suitang River Road, then to Haiwan Park.
