Feb 13, 2018

Classic works of China's Kunqu Opera, with a history of 700 years and listed by UNESCO as intangible heritage in 2001, and Italian operas were staged alternatively at Fengxian Convention Center on February 10.

"With one concert ticket I enjoyed two art forms, which is surprisingly pleasant," an audience said after the concert.

Famous Kunqu Opera actress Zhao Jinyu and Xu Qi, famous bass singer from Shanghai Opera House, joined hands to stage a world class performance.

Promotion of cultural events and masters aims to expand the influence of culture and make city more charming, according to Zhuang Mudi, Party secretary of Fengxian District.

Famous performing artist Song Huaiqiang anchored the concert, which was attended by all top leaders of Fengxian District. The concert also served as the opening of the 4th Fengxian Opera Festival.

Jiukeshu (Shanghai) Future Arts Center, the first top-level theater in suburban Shanghai, is under construction in the district. After completion, it will be a venue for the 12th China Art Festival and the Southern Shanghai New Year Concert in 2020.
